Where TI-SKIN is already in place

Measured installations, validation studies, ten years of research with universities and laboratories. And what people say about us.

Installations

Measured cases

Existing house, Atlanta (USA)

Comfort 28 in the ceiling, reflective face towards the roof, in collaboration with one of the major American energy utilities. One year of measurements with five probes: in summer never above 25 °C indoors with more than 40 °C coming in, in winter never below 21 °C. Air conditioning almost never on, more than 50% less electricity, payback in under two years.

The case study (doc. 09, Italian) →

Data centre

Comfort 23 panels in the ceiling above the server halls: the thermal load of the racks and the roof is absorbed before it reaches the chillers, which run with fewer cycles. to confirm: place, year, data

Prefabricated timber module

TI-SKIN in the wall inside the frame, between reduced static insulation and air gap, for a near-zero-energy building. DEMO LIFE project with CNR Pisa and collaborations with timber-house builders. to confirm: final photos and data

Livestock farm in Switzerland

Two identical 76 m² barns, eighty pigs, two full growth cycles. With TI-SKIN on the ceiling: days above 29 °C from 19 to zero in summer, days below 16 °C from 6 to zero in winter, +42% days in the comfort zone. Presented at Politecnico di Torino in 2019.

Offices and industrial building, 1,500 m²

Roof and ceilings: −30% HVAC consumption, €18,000 a year saved plus €1,500 less maintenance, payback in about six years. to confirm: place and year

NZEB containers for agriculture

Near-zero-energy containers with the University of Reggio Calabria (Department of Agriculture), and the extra-virgin olive oil storage room at controlled temperature with phase-change materials.

Recognition

From 2017 to today

  • SMAU 2019 and SMAU 2022
  • Premio Odisseo
  • Innovation award to confirm: exact year and title of the three awards

A hard road, rich in satisfaction, that rewards the commitment of the whole team.

Research

Universities and laboratories

  • Politecnico di Torino, Energy Department: equivalent thermal properties with dynamic heat-flow meter; on-site monitoring of a panel installed on a roof.
  • Politecnico di Milano, Energy Department: lowering the operating temperature of photovoltaic modules.
  • University of Reggio Calabria: NZEB containers and oil storage; University of Calabria: SUSTANZEB project with cork.
  • University of Ferrara (with Cádiz, USTC and Nottingham): solar-gain mitigation in ventilated tiled roofs.
  • IUAV Venice and ENEA Casaccia: thermal characterisation of static and dynamic insulation; ENEA Palermo: latent thermal management and very-high-inertia active walls.
  • CNR Pisa: DEMO LIFE project, prefabricated timber building with TI-SKIN.
  • Istituto Giordano and Certimac (ENEA-CNR): accredited fire and thermal tests.

The tests, on film

The panel tests in Italian, English and French, and the installation of the panels: the evolution of the solutions over almost ten years of research, up to the latest double-reflective generation. to confirm: links to the videos to keep, after checking the logos in frame
